Program Costs and Fees
The financial impact of an impaired driving offence is intentionally significant. These requirements are in place to reflect the seriousness of the decision, promote public safety, and encourage positive change moving forward. The cost and time involved to meet requirements are paired with educational supports through AIDREP to help participants better understand the risks of impaired driving, rebuild safe driving habits, and make informed choices in the future.
Completing the Ignition Interlock Program involves several required fees. The total cost will vary depending on the course you are assigned and the length of time you are required to have an ignition interlock device installed as well as other factors.
Most drivers in Alberta can expect to pay approximately $10,000 or more to complete all program requirements and regain their driver’s licence.
